The idea for this book came when Chris bought a blank sketch book at a local art supply store. The paper is hand made in Nepal and bound with a leather case. At first he wanted to draw and watercolor landscapes, but he had a better idea. Having worked for a corporate art collection that was owned by a popular men's magazine, he worked in licensing and sifted through thousands of photos of women for use on posters, calanders and the like. " Finding images of women and drawing them seemed like a great way to fill this beautiful sketch pad. It was a great way to practice portraits and keep the book consistent. Filling the book with non related subjects seemed like a waste of this gorgeous handmade book, which to me is a work of art in and of itself. No color was added," says Chris. " It was a helpful segue into other portraits."
